Halloween Treats.

Hey Guys!

As Halloween is drawing ever closer and October is the month of spooky everything, I have decided to make some spooky treats to share with you all.

These treats are perfect for a quick snack or for a Halloween party / movie night.

Ghost marshmallows

Ingredients –

  • 4 Egg Whites
  • 115g Caster Sugar
  • 115g Icing Sugar
  • 200g Milk or Dark Chocolate

Step 1- Set your oven to 93 degree Celsius

Step 2- Whisk the 4 egg whites in a bowl until they form stiff peaks

Step 3- Slowly add the caster sugar bit by bit, whisking the whole time. Once all mixed in, slowly add the icing sugar bit by bit, whisking the whole time

Step 4- Put this mixture into a piping bag and pipe small blobs, that resemble ghost shapes, onto a tray with parchment paper and cook them in the oven for 2 hours

Step 5- Once the ghosts have cooled down, melt the chocolate and ice eyes and a mouth onto the ghosts

Eyeball cake pops

  • 100g Vanilla Cake
  • 100g Oreos
  • 100g Milk Chocolate (melted)
  • 200g White Chocolate (melted)
  • Smarties and Icing Pens (to decorate)

You will also need 10 wooden skewers

Step 1- Break the vanilla cake up into small chunks into a bowl, pour in the melted milk chocolate and mix together

Step 2- Use your hands to roll to mixture into about 10 balls, about the size of a £2 coin, then chill them in the fridge for about 2 hours until firm

Step 3- Put a skewer into each cake pop and carefully dip it into a bowl of melted white chocolate, making sure they are all completely covered. Stand the cake pops up and press a Smartie onto the front and leave to chill until the chocolate has set.

Step 4- Once the white chocolate has set, draw some red wiggly lines on the cake pops using icing, and now they are ready to serve
Chocolate Spiders

  • 200g Milk or Dark Chocolate
  • 113g Strawberry Laces (you can use liquorice if you prefer it)
  • 2 packs of Oreos (I recommend original not double stuff)
  • White and Black icing pens

Step 1- Melt the chocolate either in the microwave, or using a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water. Once the chocolate has melted, leave the chocolate to cool, but not set

Step 2- Cut the strawberry laces into shorter, 2-3 cm pieces

Step 3- Scoop a small tsp of chocolate into half of the cookies, place one end of the strawberry lace legs into the chocolate and sandwich another cookie on top, then coat the whole cookie in chocolate. Place in the fridge for 20 mins to set

Step 4- Use the black and white icing to add eyes, completing and finishing the spider cookies
